Getting into Ireland
As we are an Island, there are two options, boat or plane.
By Boat
There are two main ferrry providers servicing Ireland, Stena Lines and Irish Ferries. Both run boats out of Dublin (Dun Laoighre and Dublin Port) and Wexford (Rosslare). The Dublin services ship to Holyhead in North Wales while the Wexford serices ship into Fishguard in South Wales. These providers also serice France but this may not be suitable for a Nuffield on a tight schedule as air travel is far more efficient from France.
Be aware that Dun Laoighre and Dublin port are seperate Dublin dockings. Dun Laoighre is on the south side of Dublin while Dublin port is at the mouth of the Liffey river in boarding in central Dublin.
By plane
Dublin airport is our largest and most frequently serviced airport, followed by Cork and Shannon airports. We have a number of smaller regional airports, best outlined here http://www.travelireland.org/irish-airports/airports_in_ireland.html. Aer Lingus and Ryanair are our two main carriers but, Dublin especially, has a wide range of airlines that serve Ireland.

Travelling around Ireland
Car
We have a pretty small country so realistically the easiest mode of transport is by car. The motorway network from Dublin to each corner of the country has dramatically reduced the time it takes to get around, the times below will give you an idea:
- Dublin to Waterford: 2hrs15mins
- Dublin to Kilkenny: 1hr45mins
- Dublin to Limerick: 2hrs15mins
- Dublin to Cork: 2hrs30mins
- Dublin to Galway: 2hrs
- Waterford to Cork: 2hrs

Train
If you would like to take a train, we have only one provider who service all the major cities:
